All too often breeders are in it for the money. They don’t care where kittens and puppies end up, as long as they have the money they don’t care what happens to the pet.
After seeing a video like this, they will start screening potential clients and refuse to let families with small children adopt a pet. Kids are notoriously cruel when they are small. They don’t know what they’re doing and in the process they hurt and often kill living beings.
Not just breeders should refuse kittens and puppies to families with small children though. Anyone who has a cat or dog who had a litter should be careful who they let adopt the pets.
In general I am not in favor of purebred animals, not while there are so many animals waiting to be adopted in shelters, one good thing of a purebred is the cost. They’re not for everybody’s pocket.
With household litters it’s often very different. These kittens and puppies are sold for a couple of bucks, or worse, given away for free. This is the worst practice!
If kittens or puppies are not wanted when owning a pet, have the adult cat or dog SPAYED OR NEUTERED, problem solved. Then again, many people want to do the right thing but can’t afford it. I remember all too well, when we had Holly spayed, it cost us over $400. This in inexcusable! Spaying and neutering should be free or at least subsidised.
As for the abusive video … I can only hope that breeders and pet owners everywhere see this and become more careful before allowing families with small children to adopt. That their heart speaks louder than their bank account.
