The man checked with the mother and upon her approval picked up the boy (who he said had a runny nose) and instantly fell asleep on his shoulder.
The responses to his post were unanimous, all the women thought this was cute, adorable or precious. To me this wasn’t precious at all.
First of all, why is a mother taking her obviously exhausted son shopping? If he’s that tired that he instantly falls asleep on a stranger’s shoulder, maybe he should be at home resting.
Second was the mention of a runny nose. What kind of a mother is she that she doesn’t tend to her son’s nose? This is just plain ignorance.
What put me off the most though was the mention that the runny nosed kid rested his head against a stranger’s shoulder. I can just imagine the snot on the man’s jacket.
In a time where people are obsessed with germs and hand sanitizers, this seems too gross to contemplate. If this kid was sick, his germs are now all over the man. If it was an innocent snot nose, his jacket is headed for the dry cleaners. Cost about $50.
Another woman mentioned that her toddler son likes nothing better than go to random strangers, hugging their legs and wiping his snot nose on their pants. She followed her message with LOL (laugh out loud). She wouldn’t be laughing for long if her son did that to me.
Just imagine, you’re wearing an expensive pantsuit or your favorite jeans and some kid walks up to you and starts wiping his nose on your leg. You better believe it that I would hit the mother with the dry cleaning bill or even better, buy new pants at her expense.
I often wonder, am I the only one who doesn’t think babies are cute? Who finds toddlers gross, and children in general annoying?
