Barbara, the president of our Board of Directors, was in the middle of a story of how someone had dumped a box of kittens on a balcony on the ground floor. The occupant of the condo had taken the box up to Barbara, and asked her to find homes for the kittens. Not just any homes though, but good homes, where the kittens would be save and loved.
My ears pricked up … kittens. It seemed for once I was at the right place at the right time.
When I expressed an interest in the kittens, Barbara didn’t have to ask if the little one would have a good home with me. She knows what a cat lover I am, and that I take really good care of my pets.
I briefly wondered how I would go about choosing a kitten, but as it turned out, the kitten chose me. Three were busy playing and chasing each other, but one immediate came to say hello.
Within seconds my choice was made and we named our kitten Holly. Over the past year Holly has grown into a beautiful, fun and loyal cat. Wherever I go, she goes; she even comes with me in the bathroom when I shower. Holly is also very talkative. She doesn’t talk to me or to any of the other cats as such, but she can keep up a lengthy conversation with the ceiling or a particular wall.
Let’s have a look at Holly growing up. (
