Books
While a bookworm loves books, what kind of books does he like? Does he like biographies, murder mysteries or is he more the medical research type? Try to find out what kind of books are of interest by keeping an eye on what he reads or have a look at his library.
If the person likes literary works, you could surprise him with an autographed book, a collectable, a special edition or a set of books.
Paper or electronic
While the book lover in your life may love books, he might be thrilled to be able to read works electronically. In that case you could surprise him with an iPad, a Kindle or Kobo reader. Books in electronic format are cheaper than regular books, download in seconds and weigh less than paper copies.
Accessories
Other than books, a bookworm will appreciate something related to reading. You could present him with a reading lamp, a luxury cushion to put behind his back or an ottoman for when he wants to put his feet up. Or you could think big and give him a bookcase.
Music
It doesn’t end there though. Some people don’t enjoy their environment to be too quiet while reading, they need something to set the mood. With this in mind you could present a book lover with some background music. Classical music might be nice, or any type of music that doesn’t have lyrics.
Snacks
Bookworms also get thirsty from time to time and might like a cup of coffee or tea. Presenting them with gourmet coffees or teas will be appreciated, as will something to nibble on while drinking their beverage. In addition, you could give them a tea set, a fancy tea pot, a mini percolator, or even just a mug.
Comfort
If you know a bookworm with bad eye sight, consider giving him a book from the large letter book collection or a page magnifier. A thoughtful and original gift might be to spring for new reading glasses.
That’s not to say that a bookworm might not enjoy something entirely different, like jewelry, perfume or dinner for two at a romantic restaurant. It’s not because he likes books that he has no interest in the all the other fine things in life.
