Still interested in the latest on the power outage in our condo building? Let me bring you up to speed and let’s hope that tomorrow will be the last update.
Yes, tomorrow could be last update because we slowly are getting back to normal. This morning we got warm water in the kitchen. I do say warm, not hot, to do the dishes I had to heat up the water in pots.
And boy did I do dishes. I washed and washed and washed for over an hour. Over the past few days, we had used every single cup, glass, plate, utensil and pot. Some of them were easy to clean, others I had to soak and scrub.
Still no hot or even warm water in the bathroom though, so morning wash happened in the kitchen.
Then this afternoon I tested the air-conditioning and as Fred Flintstone used to say … yabbe dabbe doo, we had heat. Well, not exactly heat, the air was only lukewarm, but it was better than nothing.
The only thing lacking now is hot water in the bathroom so we can shower.
The cats are also relieved that things are (almost) back to normal. Let nobody say that cats don’t feel the cold, because I’ve seen that they do.
Poor Charlotte suffered the most. She was so puffed up, she resembled a fluff ball. She either hid in the closet where the air warmed up a bit, or buried herself deep under the duvet.
And so maybe tomorrow I will be able to report the conclusion of our winter adventure.
Funny enough, when we had no cold air-conditioning a few years ago, we suffered the heat for 18 days. If this keeps up one more day, we will have suffered the cold for 18 days.
